West Palm Beach/Our 30th Anniversary Pandemic Style

We’re celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary, and because this is such a special occasion, we initially planned to celebrate our union in grand style with family and friends, but when the Corona Virus Pandemic hit, in all its uncertainty…without even a second thought we decided…there’ll always be next year and if not next year…then the year after that, but for now it’s Just Us…the way it began and the way it will always be. ❤️

Although it would be a different kind of visit, we decided to travel locally to one of our favorite locations (West Palm Beach); where the sun is always shining, the waters always blue and the food is always good.

Absolutely no place I’d rather be!
We resided at The Ben; a lovely new boutique hotel conveniently located across from the Palm Harbor Marina and near all the attractions we enjoy. The hotel had it’s Grand Opening in February of 2020 but had to close the doors one month later due to COVID-19. With their re-opening this month, they’re following all the mandated guidances and more.
Even prior to Covid-19, I’ve always packed my own personal STP (Sanitary Travel Pack) to wipe down my hotel suite, spray the linen, hard surfaces and upholstery…for me that aspect of taking precaution has not changed.

Breakfast Alfresco was a must
Every morning!
Mask-up! Ironically while we were visiting, it became mandatory to wear mask in the state of Florida, however in the venues we visited most people were wearing mask, regulating the number of people in a space at a time and sanitizer was visibly and readily available.
I fell in love with these hammock chairs
It was so nice during the evening when the staff retracted the doors. You could sit/sip…and enjoy the breeze, while people watching for hours if you wanted.
Or leave long enough to enjoy some soft shell crabs, (finger licking good!)
If you’re ever in the area I highly suggest dining at RH Rooftop Restaurant. A sight to behold, although we have one at home in Charlotte and there’s one in NYC, this one here in West Palm Beach is the first of its kind; this unique retail and dining experience is truly for those with a love for design…it begins the moment you approach the entrance (the 14-foot wall of falling water, the striking mural installation, the four levels of ultra chic, modern and classic RH interior designs, and then theres the roof top restaurant; guests dine on decadent Classic American Cuisine beneath a glass-and-steel-enclosed atrium amidst heritage olive trees and glimmering crystal chandeliers…sheer luxury!)
Prosecco all day!
This pic doesn’t do this beautiful water feature justice.

RH’s signature Lobster Roll (too good to be true).
The first level and entrance of RH…stunning!
Love at first sight! I saw this mirror (piece of art) in the elevator, and new immediately I need this in my life.
This is actually the front of RH
Not my most flattering look but guidancing in full affect.

We met the friendliest and most accommodating staff (from a distance) at Callero’s Steak House in Lake Worth…The restaurant re-opened after 10 weeks and was pretty much empty due to COVID-19 but their resilience and spirit was to be admired. Through conversation we discovered they had family in our hometown Charlotte, and during their next visit they plan to visit our restaurant…Oh and the food was exceptional.

We celebrated our Anniversary night dining at The Meat Market Steak House
As you can see social distancing was definitely not a problem…there were maybe 3 other tables dining during our visit. As soon as we entered the restaurant I noticed the staff wiping down, I could even smell a hint of Clorox in the air.
Happy Anniversary to us! ♥️
Salmon topped with a candied jalapeno orange glaze. One word…Deeelicious!
Lets ride out! Lake Trail is a scenic paved bike trail or walk, that runs along the island’s western side and boast some of the most picturesque views.
Cruising the Lake trail was a must after all the food we consumed. 🚲
